Elle Magazine looks at the latest laser hair removal options
To stay home or go to the pros?
To treat yourself or be treated?
Anybody who’s researched laser hair removal faces these questions. Do you make an appointment at a reputable spa or clinic? Or do you take the self-care into your house with an at-home hair-removal device?
Elle Magazine considers those choices in a recent article that highlights the benefits and process with each option. One of Elle’s writers experienced positive results with both hair-removal methods and reports on her findings!
Treatment in a clinic has big advantages, and in this instance, the Lumenis Splendor X laser is used by trained laser hair removal professionals. The cost is listed as $300-$400 per session, and each session lasts only five minutes. The recommendation is for six treatments, with each treatment spaced a month apart, for ideal results.
And the at-home device? Convenience is the biggest plus. Treatment can be done in the living room, bathroom or bedroom. Cost and effectiveness are necessary considerations, too. In this case, the JOVS Venus Pro, which retails for $429 and uses an intense pulsed light (IPL) – not a laser, was used. No laser hair removal professionals are employed, but extra time, patience and battery charges are necessary for an ideal outcome.
