1. Do not tan before you come for your treatment, this includes self tanner. The laser is attracted to color, so the ideal patient has light skin and dark hair. If you have a tan, it’s best to wait 4 weeks before starting treatment.
2. Try not to tweeze or wax hair before your visit. The hair must be intact for the treatment to be effective. Shaving and Nair is okay. In fact, 1-2 days of growth is perfect for your treatment day! You don’t want the hair to be too long or the laser wastes precious energy on hair outside of the follicle.
3. Let us know about any medications you are on that may make your skin photosensitive. Several antibiotics are on this list. Also, please let us know if you have taken the medication, Accutane, in the last 6 months.
4. Lastly, try not to be nervous! We are very understanding of your need for privacy and will do whatever you need to make your treatment as comfortable as possible.
